ITEM DESCRIPTION AND STORY
A beautiful set of four hand-painted ceramic tiles made by the historic Fábrica de Fajalauza, located in the Albaicín neighborhood of Granada, Spain. This workshop has been continuously producing handcrafted ceramics with these distinctive bird and floral motifs since the 1500s, making them one of the oldest living ceramic traditions in Europe.
These tiles feature classic Fajalauza designs: stylized birds surrounded by flowing foliage, painted in rich cobalt blue and deep green on a creamy white ground. The glossy glaze and expressive brushwork reflect traditional techniques passed down through generations. I purchased these tiles new directly from the fábrica, but they are made using historic patterns and methods that closely echo centuries-old Andalusian designs.
Perfect for use as decorative wall tiles, a kitchen or bathroom accent, framed tile art, or incorporated into a fireplace surround, patio, or architectural project. They also display beautifully as standalone folk art pieces and make a meaningful souvenir of Granada’s living ceramic heritage.
Choose which set of 4 you want- version 1 or version 2.
If you want more, please send me a message and I can go to the fábrica to buy you more.
